Masjid Yayasan Al-Bukhary Pulau Pinang

Masjid Nabawi-inspired mosque

The Al-Bukhary Mosque, a grand white-themed mosque located on a 3.3-hectare land in Penang, was fully funded by the Albukhary Foundation and subsequently handed over to the Penang Islamic Religious Council (MAINPP) upon completion.

The construction of this massive mosque was completed before November of this year. Its tall white minaret, adorned with green neon lights at the top, was inspired by the design of the Nabawi mosque minaret, paying homage to one of the earliest mosques built by Prophet Muhammad.

The mosque’s prayer hall can accommodate up to 2,000 Muslims for congregational prayers at any given time. Additionally, it features special restrooms for individuals with special needs, a multi-purpose hall, an ablution area built on a 28,000 square feet floor area, and 68 parking bays for cars and motorcycles. The mosque also has a designated room to undertake funeral rites for deceased Muslims.

The first congregational prayer at the Al-Bukhary Mosque took place two weeks after its handover, and since then, locals have been performing their daily congregational prayers at this magnificent facility.

Gruppe Dynamic played a significant role in the construction of this mosque, as they were appointed to design and build the iconic dome and minaret, which are integral architectural elements of this impressive structure.
