Capital A’s engineering unit, Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), is set to construct integrated maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia. These facilities will span over 380,000 square feet, occupying 20.25 acres of land within the KLIA Aeronautical Support Zone 1 (ASZ 1), which is part of the Malaysia Airports’ KLIA Aeropolis development.
Malaysia Airports’ managing director, Dato’ Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, stated that the Aeropolis development aims to establish Malaysia as a regional aerospace and cargo hub. The KLIA ASZ 1 is designated to support critical aeronautical activities and operations of airlines and cargo operators, housing notable companies such as Airbus MRO subsidiary Sepang Aircraft Engineering, Cainiao Aeropolis eWTP Hub, the upcoming DHL Express, local airlines, cargo terminal operators, and ground handlers.
Once completed, the new MRO facilities will have the capacity to provide services for up to 14 commercial aircraft simultaneously.

This project involved conducting detailed numerical simulations and stress analyses to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of the clamping connections used in the steel structure of Hangar A. The numerical modeling and stress analysis aimed to assess the structural behavior, identify potential stress concentrations, and ensure the clamping connections meet the required design criteria and safety standards.
